If I had the capacity to remember a nightmare, I would welcome it. Horrifying though it may be as I lie unconscious on my bed, at least I would wake up with a sense of relief that it was only just a dream. But I detest happy dreams. They give me a small taste of what it would feel like to live in my ideal and most desired reality, only to instill in me a cold wave of bitterness as that bliss fades away. Happy dreams are life’s cruel way of tormenting us, giving us all our life’s desires for one transitory moment and taking them away in a heartbeat.
